TAG Group appoints new Head of Global Marketing and Communications MWorld FEATURES, NEWS UK-based travel and event management company TAG, which has offices in the US and Asia-Pacific, has appointed Alex Kington as its Head of Global Marketing and Communications. Prior to her new role, Kington has previously served as Regional Marketing Manager at PwC and, most recently as Head of Marketing and Communications at Clarity Travel. Based in Manchester, Kington will report to Ruth Hilton, recently appointed as TAG’s Head of Commercial. Her role is a new one following a restructuring. Kington will be responsible for overseeing TAG’s global marketing strategy for all its divisions – Touring, Corporate, Events, Private Travel and Film and Media – for the UK, US and APAC markets. Giving herf comments, Kington said that it was an “exciting time” to join TAG. “The business is growing, expanding its global reach and market share across all division is and I’m looking forward to playing a role in that continued growth,” Kington said. And also speaking, Ruth Hilton, Head of Commercial at TAG, added: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Alex to the team. Her extensive marketing experience and industry knowledge, together with her brand development skills, will lead us through the next phase of our evolution. Alex’s role as Head of Global Marketing and Communications will enable us to communicate information more cohesively, giving us better control of our global brand, strategy and message.” TAG, founded in 1988, was formerly known as The Appointment Group). The agency managed around 50 international events in 2019, 31 of which were managed from the UK in locations including The Hague and Amsterdam, as well as in Japan, Malaysia, Italy, China, Hong Kong and France. These were a mixture of incentives, study tours, product launches and partner conferences. Furthermore, to note; Fifteen of the events were managed in the APAC region and the USA team in its first year of operation managed mostly domestic events but had one large incentive in Vietnam.
