StarTimes Nigeria Entices Subscription Renewals with Festive Deal MWorld FEATURES, NEWS Pay-TV operator StarTimes Nigeria has launched its Christmas promotion, encouraging subscribers to sign up for a second month at half the usual cost. startimes logo 20 Nov 2017The deal, which runs from now until 31 January 2018, enables access to 80 channels on the digital terrestrial TV platform. “Subscribers who renew their subscription for at least one month automatically get 50% discount on their second month subscription,” said Qasim Elegbede, brand and marketing director, StarTimes Nigeria. “We are entering into the festive season with lots of promotions in store for our subscribers. I believe this will allow our subscribers to watch all of their favourite programmes already lined up for the Christmas and New Year season without any form of interruption,” he added. Digital TV operator StarTimes now covers 80% of Africa’s population with a distribution network that comprises over 200 brand halls, 3,000 convenience stores and 5,000 distributors. StarTimes is operating in an increasingly crowded pay-TV market in Nigeria, with the recent launch of rival platforms Kwesé TV and TSTV, along with the existing DStv and GOtv platforms from South Africa-based competitor MultiChoice.
